eigenstrapping.geometry.inflate_mesh(*, vertices=None, faces=None, iterations=10, smoothing_factor=1.0, inflation_factor=0.1, normalize=False)[source]

Inflate the mesh using Connectome Workbench surface-inflation

Parameters:
  • (vertices (mesh-like tuple or str) – Surface to inflate. Can also be a filename to a surface.

  • faces) (mesh-like tuple or str) – Surface to inflate. Can also be a filename to a surface.

  • iterations (int, optional) – Number of smoothing iterations, default 10.

  • smoothing_factor (float, optional) – Sigma of Gaussian smoothing kernel, default 1.

  • inflation_factor (float, optional) – How much to inflate the surface, used for soft correction of surface area distortions, default 0.1.

  • normalize (bool, optional) – Normalize surface area of inflated surface to original surface. Hard correction of surface area distortions (forces surface area of inflated surface to be the same as the original - may induce distortions of its own, needs more testing). Default False.
